FAC was the first featured event of GEW Sudan 2016 the FutureAgroChallenge, a competition for entrepreneurs in agriculture and food field hosted by Mazin Merghani. This is a challenge that asks for innovation to find sustainable, modern solutions for problems that have been facing Sudanese farmers for years.
Four projects were presented and under the supervision of a panel which included Prof. Ali Algasim – the Director of National Center for Agricultural Research of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Ali Amin – General Director of Erada for microfinance, Mr. Hashim Abdallah Hassan – Administrative manager at Bashpharma Ltd and Mr. Sohaib alkhawalda – Youngest Arabic person Recorder at Society of British businessmen in 2011.
The project which qualified for the international final – at South Africa, March 2017- was Onion Farm founded by Osman Hassan Ali. Onion farm aims to improve productivity of farms and crop quality using precision tools for farming.
