On 17thof November, 2016 startup Weekend Khartoum (SWKH) at the Mamoun Beheiry Center opened their doors to selected participants to engage in a three- day event to polish their ideas and turn them into projects.
On the first day of SWKH 40 ideas were pitched, but only around 30 ideas succeeded to enter the competition. In SWKH participants were trained on team building and communication skills followed by presenting their ideas to the audience in 60 seconds for each participants. Participants had to vote for only 20 ideas then form teams to work on each idea.
On the second and final days teams were working so hard with mentors help in developing their idea and business model. The energy and competition on those days were high among participants.
On the last day the doors were open again to the audience. The teams presented their ideas in front of the jury comity which included for SWKH: Mr. Mohammed Sharief – Senior director business development at Zain Sudan, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Derwish – CEO & owner of Derwish brothers, Mr. Khalid Mohammed Ali – Co-founder of Lime partners and Mr. Khalid Mustafa – Business solution manager at DAL Group.
