During one week each November, thousands of events and competitions in 160 countries inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors. The initiative is supported by dozens of world leaders and a network of more than 15,000 partner organizations.
GEW Sudan will take place from the 9th to the 19th of November and will include a large number of activities and events held at different locations which will target several sectors of the community through which we hope to attract more participants, spread awareness, raise potential, and best of all, build skills and empower our society in order to build a real ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, innovators and job creators.
GEW Sudan is the most awaited event of the year among youth, according to organizers, and it is currently a challenge for the organizing committee to meet the requirement. More than 4,000 are expected.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community (IEC) is a national youth-driven NGO with the mission of activating the entrepreneurial activity among Sudanese youth. IEC activated the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sudan by organizing the first local GEW in 2014 introducing Sudan to the world through the largest entrepreneurship network.
GEW Sudan has continued to grow more and more each year by including quality new partners from governmental bodies and large companies to community and nonprofit organizations, organizing a number of GEW core feature events, and by matching and fulfilling the needs of the local entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Featured Events:
Arab Innovation Network Annual Conference (AINAC):
Is a regional gathering of Arab innovators from more than 12 Arab countries. It is a two-day conference held in Sudan for the first time where AIN and IEC members alongside academics and professionals from engineering, entrepreneurship, healthcare, environment and life sciences sectors will gather to share creative ideas, acknowledge innovation and connect with potential partners.
Future Agro Challenge (FAC):
The day will begin with the Agripreneurs Summit which is a one-of-a-kind vibrant event that will bring increasing interaction between farmers, agripreneurs, investors, the private sector, government and other stakeholders to build awareness of the industry potential, introduce game changing innovations, and attract the necessary talent, as well as, gain increased attention from the youth to see agriculture as a food basket opportunity.
Get in The Ring (GITR):
GITR is a non-profit organization known for its unique pitching format where two startups literally face off against each other in the ring. GITR puts startups in the spotlight, and gives them a worldwide podium to raise capital and to connect with investors and create a fan base. GITR competition is taking place in over 64 countries worldwide and we in GITR Sudan aim to make vital, fascinating and unprecedented startups competition.
Workshops and Sessions :
GEW Sudan 2017 will feature a number of workshops and seminars that will target different groups; from school and university students to aspiring and current entrepreneurs at a number of different states across Sudan.
Intelligent Conversations:
IEC will host an intelligent conversation’s panel throughout the week of GEW. The Intelligent Conversations is a series of discussions intended to explore and raise awareness about the main elements of entrepreneurship ecosystem in Sudan.
